The power to use the abilities of a werebeast. Variation of Mythic Physiology and Animal Morphing. Opposite of Beastwere Physiology.

Also Called[]

  • Bestial/Feral/Therianthrope Physiology
  • Changing Breeds (Werewolf: The Apocalypse/World of Darkness)
  • Homo Therianthropia (Human Subspecies only)
  • Therianthropy
  • Torc Beast Physiology
  • Wereanimal Physiology
  • Werecreature Physiology

Capabilities[]

A user with this ability is a werebeast, a being that transforms into an animal form or a humanoid animal-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse and/or therianthropic affliction via a bite or scratch from a werebeast, or some other means. In most myths and legends, this transformation is often associated with the appearance of the full moon.

Most depictions are unable to change into their bestial form when the full moon is not present, only changing when the full moon appears, but in more unique cases, they can transform freely any time when needed without the requirement of a full moon. Additionally, some werebeast can potentially attain a variety of bestial traits and attributes in their normal form which can drastically affect their physical condition and abilities.

Though the most common werebeast is a werewolf, werebeasts can be virtually any animal.

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • Transformation may be painful.
  • May be connected to the phases of the Moon (Full Moon in particular) and either only be able to transform or be involuntarily forced to change during one.
  • May be independent from Lunar Mind in most depictions.
  • May include loss of memory of human emotion and life.
  • May include loss of self-control.
  • May be vulnerable to other therianthropes' natural attacks.
  • May have weaknesses to silver, gold, or other things depending on type of werebeast.
  • May be uncontrollably triggered by emotion.
  • Users of Conversion Negation can cure those of therianthropy, back to what they are formerly.
