"You watch the skies night after night looking for your little green men..."
"Little
grey men, actually."
― Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The power to use the abilities of a grey alien. Variation of Alien Physiology.

Capabilities[]

Users either are or can transform into the extraterrestrial being known as the greys typically depicted as gray-skinned (sometimes muted blue or green, occasionally a beige). The modern version of the Little Green Men and currently the most common depiction of extraterrestrials. They have the same basic body plan as humans, but they're grey, somewhat shorter than an average adult human, and have enormous heads with equally huge black eyes resembling an upside-down-raindrop. They probably have no nose (when they do, the nostrils are thin like reptiles), and they almost certainly wear no clothes (though they will have no visible genitals). In the older stories, they sometimes got silver spacesuits. Sometimes they will be a muted blue or green instead, and very occasionally a beige variant. Like the Little Green Men before them, they still tend to come in spacecraft. However, the overtly hostile version is much rarer; abduction is their primary modus operandi (which naturally may be taken as still fairly sinister, of course). They will not speak in beeping noises, though, and they certainly don't know English. Mostly they will not speak at all. They may be telepathic alongside having other alien-like powers. What they do with those abducted varies but performing experiments and even the creation of Half-Human Hybrids.

Far from being black and grey, their beliefs are usually of the blue and orange sort. Maybe sufficiently advanced aliens who haven't visited us since the time of the Pyramids. Despite the fact that Earth is an Insignificant Little Blue Planet, they will be obsessed with us for reasons which may vary. Perhaps they want to help us Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence. Perhaps we are the Precursors. Perhaps they merely want To Serve Man. In other cases, they may be benevolent or much wiser than humanity, often in a hippie sort of way, granting the abductees really trippy cosmic visions. They'll hardly ever do much more than that, though.

A variant is much taller and slimmer proportioned and somewhat more human in the face. They are often used when they're meant to be less mysterious and more human to interact with. Compared with Humanoid Aliens, Little Green Men, and Lizard Folk.

While the Grey is a vastly popular archetype in both fiction and cryptozoology, they are actually a modern retelling of much older myths surrounding nocturnal spirits, which have since been explained (at least somewhat) by the scientific phenomena of Sleep Paralysis.

Applications (General)[]

  • Various Alien Powers: Abilities and powers that are relating to extraterrestrial beings.

Applications (Detailed)[]

  • Alien: An extraterrestrial/alien: life forms that are of extraterrestrial origin or originate from beyond the Earth. Given the near-infinite variety of possible extraterrestrials, even only the ones in fiction, a user can conceivably use nearly any power.
    • Psionics: Use various forms of psychic abilities/powers, including telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, technopathy, foresight, etc.
    • Shapeshifting: Change shape, size, color, density, texture, cellular composition, and/or atomic composition to mimic qualities, impersonate entities, amplify abilities, and/or traverse environments. The origins of this power play a significant role in their capabilities and limitations; altering oneself on a cellular, atomic, and/or conceptual level will permit varying degrees of alteration; while methods that defy the laws of reality, such as magic, will most likely keep to their own set of conventions.
  • Alien Blood: Possesses blood of extraterrestrial origins in comparison to non-aliens (like humans or superior humans).
  • Super Science: Have access to powerful science, the use of formula, technology and various other scientific powers, allowing users to perceive, understand and control anything to any precise degrees in scientific studies in order to obtain knowledge through organized experimentation in all of its branches include physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, etc.
  • Unique: Possesses unique physiology, a term used to describe the nature of some characters to have certain advantages over normal human beings. It reflects a character's biological heritage, maybe from the evolution of their species over the centuries.
  • Sleep Paralysis Inducement: the Grey are known in most cases to be able to put a victim in a state akin to sleep paralysis, this has been explained as a supernatural (or advanced science) means for them to easily abduct their victims (likewise it has been used to rationalize Grey encounters by explaining them as illusions and/or tricks of the mind (similar to older myths of Night Hags).)

Variations[]

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • Greys are generally physically weak.
  • Vulnerable to the technologies and spiritual abilities of certain entities (most notably the Pleaidians) - also considered to be below the Reptoids (in context of UFO folklore).
  • While technologically advanced and cunning Greys are still mortal to some degree, thus can potentially be killed by violence or other means.
  • Like many technology-based societies they would be weak to many forms of magic.
  • Certain Alien Slayers would be a natural counter to them due to their extra-terrestrial origins.
