Capabilities
User with this ability either is or can transform into an gnome, originally a diminutive spirit in Renaissance magic and alchemy, first introduced by Paracelsus and later adopted by more recent authors including those of modern fantasy literature. Their characteristics have been reinterpreted to suit the needs of various story-tellers, but typically they are considered to be a small, humanoid creature that lives underground.
Older gnomes are earth-spirits, able to glide through earth and stone, dwelling underground and sometimes being literally formed from earthen materials. Aside of being small, their exact form tend to be highly variable and sometimes only vaguely humanoid.
Of late, gnomes have become defined as small humanoids with at least somewhat execrated facial features and/or coloration and, most definingly, a strange, eccentric and/or manic behavior that tends to make them stand out from the rest of the world. They have access to varying combinations of magic (often illusions), alchemy and technology combined with tendency to experiment with them.
