"You think freedom is something that you can give or take on a whim... To people, freedom is just as essential as air. And without it, there is no life, no hope. There is only darkness."
― Zaheer (Avatar: The Legend of Korra)
"What does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a God?"
― Dainsleif (Genshin Impact)

The state of being liberated. Opposite to Meta Fate Manipulation. Not to be confused with Freeing.

  • Boundary Immunity/Transcendence
  • Complete Volition
  • True Freedom
  • True Limitlessness/Boundlessness
  • The Illimitable
  • Unfettered/Unfetteredness

Capabilities[]

Users possess a absolute form of freedom and independence that liberates them from laws, rules, fate, predestination, concepts, limits, and other types of cosmic, spiritual, mental, physical and mystical jurisdictions, making the user highly resistant or outright immune to their effects. In theory, the lowest level of freedom amounts to enhanced free will that enables users to act more independently from and/or with an immunity to more 'worldly' limitations such as laws or societal norms. The advanced levels of freedom, however, would liberate users from fundamental aspects of reality and existence, such as logic, causality or even their own origin, with the absolute form of freedom being liberated from absolutely everything and therefore being nothing short of, and solely possessed by, Omnipotence itself.

Applications[]

Elementary Level[]

Metaphysical Level[]

Absolute Level[]

Techniques[]

  • Fun Reality Manipulation: The user can manipulate everything the user wishes from logic to the plot, as long as it's fun, allowing them to manipulate reality, but only as long as it's fun, either for themselves and/or others.
    • Cartoon Physics - Users possess the ability to impose the laws and physics of cartoons into reality, essentially allowing to warp the world around them however they see fit usually in a comedic fashion. Basically, cartoon physics is a jocular system of laws of physics (and biology) that supersedes the normal laws, used in animation for humorous effect. Most users can re-write the strict laws of physics in their universe to their convenience and is allowed to overwrite the laws with more lenient and much more absurd physics with much more ridiculous ones in service of hilarity.
  • Effect Generation - Higher levels of Freedom are free from the need for a 'cause' to their desired 'effect', and so can make practically any effect happen without a rational cause.
  • Life Determination
  • Cosmic Otherness - Users of Absolute and Ultimate Freedom can choose to forgo/deny everything, becoming something entirely other, absolutely distinct from everything else.
  • Ultimate and Absolute levels of Freedom can be applied to perfectly recreate the effects of any power, even without necessarily granting the power itself, as the user is free to do whatever they want.

Levels[]

Elementary[]

  • Social: Users are free from and thus unaffected by normal laws and forms of jurisdiction in their society. Laws cannot be applied to them, it is practically impossible to imprison or restrain them by normal means, and their free will is, for all intents and purposes, impossible to take away, rendering them immune to all but the most powerful forms of control, as well as potentially granting them the ability to deny fate, as their enhanced free will allows them to act against and somewhat alter its course.
  • Biological: Users are free from aspects of their physical condition such as disease, or the need for sustenance such as food and water.

Metaphysical[]

Users retain all of the abilities of the Social and Biological Levels, on top of varying levels of freedom from more fundamental laws, such as those of reality and existence.

  • Type I: Users have an enhanced level of freedom that allows them to infringe on one or more 'laws' of the universe. Such laws are unchangeable by normal means and serve as defining aspects of existence and what we collectively consider real, such as the laws of physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, etc. For example, users may be able to infringe on the laws of physics to reduce or ignore the effects of gravity, allowing them to float as though unaffected by it.
  • Type II: Users are living anomalies that are completely free from one or more of the laws of reality, such as fate, the laws of cause and effect, or even logic itself. Their existence is independent of such laws and can choose whether or not to adhere to them, allowing them to perform feats that should be completely impossible. For example, users may be capable of completely ignoring the laws of physics to fly or pass-through walls, ignoring the boundaries between realities to cross between them, ignoring causality to render themselves completely immune to harm or arrive somewhere before they actually start travelling, or move free from restrictions. (Note: What sets Type II apart from Type I is that this level of freedom grants users' complete liberation from a law to the point that it doesn't even apply to them while Type I can only infringe on certain aspects of a law without being completely free from it.)
  • Ultimate Level - Users are completely free from all laws of reality and of reality itself, essentially making them nigh-omnipotent in nature. These users possess extraordinary capabilities as a result of their freedom, being capable of doing virtually anything they want, as they are free from any and all laws that could prevent them from doing so. Most likely, even almighty laws and other absolutes in existence would be inapplicable to them as users would exist simply unimpeded by such limitations. Moreover, most users would be liberated from their own origins, thus enabling them to morph and change their existence and destiny at a whim. At this stage, the only thing that prevents them from attaining true freedom is just another truer version of freedom, which is omnipotence itself.

Absolute[]

  • Absolute Level - Freedom in its truest and most unlimited form is nothing short of an expression of omnipotence itself; being liberated from absolutely all aspects of totality. The nature of such freedom would fundamentally be incomprehensible, as if it weren't, it wouldn't be totally liberated. In theory, this would be the equivalent of a fictional character being unhindered by being fiction and being capable of freely transcending beyond its pages to the highest levels of existence and power simply by wanting to. Nothing can affect, define or limit them unless they allow it to, allowing the user to do absolutely anything without being hindered by the need for a 'how' to their actions, and giving them the capability to transcend anything and everything, be whatever they want to be, and have any and all abilities they desire at a whim.
