Capabilities[]

User with this ability either is or can transform into an Atlantean, an inhabitant of the mythical island of Atlantis, a fabled lost utopia (or dystopia), often described as sinking due to man's hubris and descent into decadence. As an old and excessively borrowed idea, Atlanteans and their kind are a very common in fictional universes, meaning that there is a vast variety with only the fact that they come from the same origin connecting them.

Original Atlanteans, as Plato described them, were simply humans who lived on a particularly fertile island-continent before its sinking, although as the royal family were direct descendants of the god Poseidon, they may have had some divine blood and as such may have inherited various divine powers.

Later fictional Atlanteans can be divided into two categories:

Advanced: This type of Atlantean had advanced technology (at least compared to others) or even super-science, and were often mentally more advanced as well, possessing mental abilities. This variety may have been aliens or has moved away from Earth.

Aquatic: This type of Atlantean have survived the sinking by adapting to their new environment, outside to this they often have abilities related to water and commanding aquatic life. They tend to have more physical powers, such as superior strength and endurance.

Enhanced/Supernatural Condition: Possess all their capabilities, attributes and aspects at an enhanced level, beyond that of the peak members of their own species. Even have supernatural capabilities, attributes and aspects that are drastically beyond what is naturally possible. With their condition alone, they can dwarf most beings in their respective universe, being virtually supreme in their existential aspects and attributes.

Balanced Civilization Progression: In most readings, Atlantis was known for being a balanced civilization possessing both advanced technology and paranormal abilities, including psionics and magic.
- Advanced Technology: Atlanteans possess technology beyond known means of science beyond Atlantean borders.
Uplifting: Said to be an advanced civilization to raise other species to the vastness of potential.

Aquatic[]

Aquatic Adaptation: Able to survive and adapt to underwater environments, being able to breathe water in lieu of, or along with, a gaseous breathing medium, to swim well and to endure high water pressure and extreme water temperatures.
Aquatic Life Embodiment: Become the embodiment of the natural forces of life originating/pertaining to water.
Aquatic Life Manipulation: Control marine life, from creatures that dwell in shallow water, to the ones who dwell in the abyss. Users may use this ability offensively or defensively depending on the situation.
Oceanscience: Knows everything about the ocean/the seas/waters/aquatic life and everything related to it.
Various Water-Based Powers: Powers based on the water can be found in this category. There are different Atlanteans throughout fiction; different species might have different powers.
Water Empowerment: Stronger, faster, more durable, etc. when they come in contact with water, possibly unlocking abilities related to the affinity and enhancing the existing powers.

Often rather arrogant/hubristic which proven to be their undoing since it supposedly resulted the cataclysmic event that submerged Atlantis into the sea.

Aquatic Atlanteans

May dehydrate while out of water.
May become weaker or more vulnerable without a source of water.
