"Motives for war are of no concern. Religion, ideology, wealth, resources, land, grudges, love, glory, pride, enjoyment or just because of a whim… No matter how screwed up, ridiculous or pathetic the reason, it's enough to start a war. War can be temporarily suppressed but it will never permanently cease to exist… Reasons for war can be thought up after the fact. Human's selfish nature and pursuit for self-gratification is what gave rise to chaos."
― Nagato (Naruto Shippuden)
"How disappointing you ungrateful and barbaric creatures are. The Gods gave you minds capable of true wisdom, yet you WASTE it on self-interest and war!"
― Future Zamasu, expressing the reasons why he despises all mortal life. (Dragon Ball Super)
"My father is content to fight the same battles and the same foes while everything turns to ashes. Though his victories might last a day, or a year, or a hundred years, the war will never be won so long as he and his brothers lead. There is an end to it, but fools like my father are too blind to see it."
― Lilith (Diablo)
"Because there are people like you who seeked dream on the battlefield, war will never go away!!"
― Kin Mou (Kingdom)
