Capabilities

The user can enter a state of spiritual degradation, corrupting their soul and very nature and entering a corrupt, fallen existence. In the most extreme cases, the user becomes truly evil and ruthless, possessing a Dark Heart or Dark Soul, or completes a conversion and becomes a true monster.

• Enlightenment: Despite their having lost any chance of grace, the corrupt can also achieve forms of dark insights and epiphanies with which to uplift themselves in spite of their dirtied beings. Granting a form of guttural farsight and underlying feral cunning that enables achieving the impossible or inconceivable.
• Fallen: User are, or have, descended to the lower realms. Degrading into malignant entities withholding a slew of terrifying abilities, the obvious being an insurmountable level of destructive potential that is matched solely by their madness. Making them unrivaled as a disembodied blight or living pain.

The DNA Voice (Elfen Lied) represents a Diclonius' killer instinct, encouraging Lucy to reject her sense of compassion and empathy and embrace her apathy and bloodlust.

After losing his hometown and his family by the Dragons, a young doctor swore that he would kill every Dragon in history by learning Dragon Slayer Magic...

Her greed led her to form the Chess Pieces, with herself as the queen, to conquer all of MÄR.

As a child, Halloween (Marchen Awakens Romance) was driven mad by relentless bullying and envy of his friend Alan's strength. After he learned the pleasure of tormenting the weak from killing his bullies, he grew up to join the Chess Pieces as the third strongest Knight and has been one of their most sadistic and warped soldiers ever since.

Chimera (Marchen Awakens Romance) joined the Chess Pieces after being tortured by her husband's lynchers. Accepting the power of Ghost ÄRMs, Chimera trained herself viciously and began rejecting her humanity. After coming to despise Peter Parker for ruining his life, Eddie Brock (Marvel Comics) came in contact with the Symbiote that Peter rejected and bonded with it. Feeding on both Brock's and its own hatred for Spider-Man, the Symbiote became increasingly vicious and bloodthirsty, corrupting Eddie into a vengeful supervillain that viewed himself as poison to Peter Parker/Spider-Man, naming himself and the symbiote Venom.

Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Sonic the Comic) is the corrupted form of Dr. Ovi Kintobor, who was brought into existence when Kintobor was exposed to negative Chaos Energy from the Chaos Emeralds.

After Lex Luthor (DCAU) killed the Flash, The Justice League became the Justice Lords with ruthless methods of bringing peace.

When Jade (Jackie Chan Adventures) disobeyed Jackie about getting a tattoo, she put the Mark of Tarakudo on her ankle, allowing her call upon the Shadowkhan at the cost of being slowly corrupted into the demonic "Queen of the Shadowkhan."

Kai Yee (The Life and Times of Juniper Lee) is a corrupted/evil Te Xuan Ze who turned against the Magical Elders when he tried to destroy them and steal their powers for himself. Mac Antfee (Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja) was the only Ninja who was fired due to letting the Ninja Suit corrupt him into an aggressive jerk who abusing his power. He was also unable to move on with his life until Randy used The Ultimate Lesson to mind wipe him.

Ruber (Quest for Camelot) became a fallen knight who was hunger for power.

After stealing and donning the Element of Magic, Sunset Shimmer (My Little Pony: Equestria Girls) was transformed into a power-mad demon hellbent on conquering Equestria and destroying Twilight Sparkle.

Lord Drakkon (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers)

After forsaking his duty to ferry souls to the afterlife, Davy Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean) started losing himself, mutating into a hybrid of various aquatic animals that allow him to be the most feared pirate of the Seven Seas.

Darth Sidious (Star Wars) was deformed by decades of immersion in the dark side.

Sith who indulge in the dark side of the force such as Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars) showed it through a change in his eye color from its original color to yellow...

...and after having his legs and arms amputated shortly before being left for dead, his lungs were seared as he was burned alive on Mustafar and his transformation into Darth Vader, he called heavily upon the dark side to marginalize his wounds so he could again be self-sufficient.

Ben Solo/Kylo Ren (Star Wars)

After inadvertently causing the death of Jimmy Olsen at Davis Bloome's hands, Clark Kent (Smallville) rejected the human qualities he was raised with and embraced his Kryptonian heritage, convinced that caring too much about people limits his ability to save them and becoming more violent and brutal...

...to the extent that red Kryptonite no longer has as drastic an effect on him as it did in his teen years.

Gohma Vlitra (Asura's Wrath), the dark spirit of Gaea was given birth thousands of years ago in an attempt to regain the souls of mortals after they started not returning to Gaea due to the demigods' overuse of Mantra.

Once the Angel of Light, "The Bearer of Light", and God's most glorious Archangel and divine servant, Lucifer (Dante's Inferno) was banished from Paradise as punishment for his failed rebellion against God and cast into Treachery, the lowest Circle of the Inferno. After millennia of Hell, he became a twisted and demonic being that planned to kill God and reclaim his place in Paradise.

Beatrice (Dante's Inferno) shortly after accepting to be Lucifer's consort and eating an evil, cursed fruit.

Artorias (Dark Souls) was once a member of the legendary Four Knights of Gwyn, before becoming consumed by the Abyss, earning him the the epithet "Artorias The Abysswalker" for being the first person to traverse through it.

The Ivory King (Dark Souls II) was once the kind and compassionate ruler of Eleum Loyce until he and his knights were corrupted by the flames of the Old Chaos during their last-ditch effort to destroy it.

Like their king, the Charred Loyce Knights (Dark Souls II) were also corrupted by the Old Chaos, losing their sense of self as they burned in eternal agony within the fire.

The Fallen (Destiny) were once glorious beings of the light but are now nomadic pirates who ravage other worlds for their own benefit.

Nelo Angelo (Devil May Cry series) was once Dante's brother, Vergil, who was corrupted by the demon emperor, Mundus, into a powerful demonic warrior.

By claiming the Black Soulstone from his brother Tyrael, Malthael (Diablo III: Reaper of Souls), named himself the "Angel of Death," where his once bright wings and form became dark and deathly in the process. If that wasn't bad enough, he broke the Soulstone and infused its demonic energies into himself.

Megidramon (Digimon) became a horrible abomination of rage after digivolving from Wargrowlmon out of Tikato's anger.

Davoth, the Dark Lord of Hell (Doom) was the former Father before his fall from grace.

Alex Mercer (Prototype) once held on to his sense of humanity, but when he was betrayed by the close humans he grew to love, he rejected every trace of humanity in him becoming nothing more than a monster.
