Users, either through projection, special effects, or innate abilities, have an "aversion field", an area surrounding the user that repels/redirects attacks away from them, causing things like explosive blasts, projectiles such as bullets and arrows or even physical blows to split, curve or even deform to avoid damaging (or maybe even touching) the protected target. More powerful aversion fields can protect users from any form of harm, repelling poison or other supernatural abilities, resulting in the user basically being invulnerable.
